Volunteer Services, FAVORS Program and Book Cart

In addition to room service for meals, patients at The University of Vermont Medical Center have access to an additional room service program to meet other needs. The program, called FAVORS, is designed for the comfort and convenience of our patients and their families.

Patients may request a variety of items for delivery through the FAVORS program, such as:

  • Newspaper
  • Snacks
  • Magazines
  • Games
  • Books
  • Books on tape
  • Music tapes and CD
  • DVD/VHS movies

Additionally, a FAVORS volunteer can shop in the Gift Shop for you, help fill out menu selections, or simply pay you a visit for some company. A Craft Basket and an Activity Basket are also available upon request.

How do I make a request?

Patients — or a staff member on behalf of a patient — can dial 1-2-3, Monday - Friday, from 9 am - 4 pm. Please note that this program is offered on the Medical Center Campus only.

About the FAVORS Program

Staffed and operated by the UVM Medical Center volunteers, "FAVORS" is short for The UVM Medical Center Volunteers Offer Room Service. The program is funded through The UVM Medical Center Auxiliary, Inc.
