Compliance and Privacy at UVM Health
The Compliance and Privacy department helps University of Vermont Health and all its health care partners follow the many business ethics and legal standards that apply to health care providers, both federally and within the states of Vermont and New York.
The role of the Compliance and Privacy department is to:
- Foster a culture of compliance across UVM Health
- Educate UVM Health employees on how to comply with applicable federal and state statutes and regulations, as well as organizational policies
- Ensure that the organization's employees feel comfortable and safe when raising compliance and privacy issues
- Establish a clear process for obtaining answers to compliance and privacy questions
- Document efforts to comply with applicable statutes, regulations and program requirements
- Implement an effective system of monitoring, auditing and remediation
