Open Enrollment Begins November 3
You can sign up for your 2026 benefits on Workday beginning Monday, November 3. Be sure to add or remove dependents and make any necessary changes by Monday, Nov. 17. For most employees, Cigna will be the new health insurance provider.
Remote Access Gateway
The Remote Access Gateway provides a secure way to remotely access internal University of Vermont Health resources from anywhere.
Log in to the remote access gateway
To access the Remote Access Gateway:
- Register for and download the Microsoft Authenticator app. (Registration must be done while on-site. If you are unable to come on-site, you must call the IT support center for assistance at 802-847-1414).
- Download and install the new Citrix Workspace.

Troubleshooting Support
Below is a list of the most common issues and troubleshooting steps. Before you begin, please make sure your browser is fully updated and you have installed the latest version of Citrix Receiver.
- Ensure that all the steps above have been completed.
- Clear your browser cache.
- Ensure that https://workspace.uvmhealth.org is allowed through any Firewall software installed on your PC.
- Ensure that https://workspace.uvmhealth.org is not being blocked by any Firewall software installed on your PC.
You will need to use a valid username and password to create an account. You will also need to have registered for Microsoft Authenticator and downloaded the app.
You must add https://workspace.uvmhealth.org to your web browser’s trusted sites. This will prevent you from being prompted to download or run an .ica file when launching applications.
- To successfully launch applications from Google Chrome, please make sure that you are running both the latest version of Google Chrome as well as the latest version of Citrix Workspace.
- You may be presented with an "External Protocol Request" pop-up. You should check the box to "remember my choice for all links of this type" and then click the “Launch Application” button to proceed.

Human Resources Tools
- Workday: Log in to Workday using your work email address, password to view employee job opportunities, tax documents, benefits and personal data. See information above about Microsoft Authenticator.
- HR Solution Center: For questions related to benefits, disability, FMLA and Workday, simply call (844) 777-0886 or send an email to HRSolutionCenter@uvmhealth.org.
- Kronos: Log in to Kronos using your work email address, password and Microsoft Authenticator to access your schedule, timecard and CTO functions. See information above about Microsoft Authenticator.
- Kronos (Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital): Log in to Kronos.
- Cornerstone: Log in to Cornerstone to complete required training and explore new skills.
- Smart Square: Log in to Smart Square for scheduling and staffing.
PAWS Program
The PAWS Program at UVM Medical Center enhances staff well-being with therapy dog visits to reduce stress and improve mood and workplace culture.
We help staff members become certified handlers through Therapy Dogs of Vermont, allowing them to return to the workplace as volunteer therapy dog teams.
