MyChart: Billing FAQs
All patients with MyChart accounts receive paperless billing statements.
- You will be notified by email whenever a new billing statement is available in MyChart.
- Your billing statements will be available securely in your MyChart Account.
- You may review or print your statements from MyChart at any time.
Prefer paper statements? To receive paper statements by mail, select the link to "Paperless Preferences" on your MyChart Billing Summary page.
Sign into MyChart. In the main navigation menu, select “Pay Your Bill” to see your current balance. Balances fall into two categories:
- Bills that the patient or guarantor can pay (patient balance billing statements)
- Bills with collection balances
If you are the guarantor (financially responsible) for another patient, you can view their billing statements under the guarantor category.
Sign into MyChart. In the top navigation bar, select “Pay Your Bill.” Click “Pay Your Bill Online” under the health care partner that has issued your bill.
If you do not have a MyChart account and received a paperless bill via email, follow these steps:
- Open the MyChart email you received and click the link to pay your bill
- Answer the authentication question (date of birth) and complete the two-factor authentication
- In MyChart, review your bill in the "Details" tab
A guarantor, or a person who is financially responsible for payment, can view billing information and pay bills for their dependents. Financial guarantors can only view billing or financial information for patients under the age of 18. Patients become their own financial guarantors after age 18.
If you do not have access to a guarantor, you can use Guest Pay and submit the guarantor number.
UVM Health offers many financial assistance options, including payment plans and discounted or free care for people who do not have insurance, who are not eligible for a government program, or who are insured but cannot pay.
