UVM Medical Center Primary Care, your patient-centered medical home, helps you and your family manage your comprehensive, long-term health care needs, from pediatrics to adult and geriatric care, in one place.

Our team-based approach to primary care allows you to partner with a range of highly skilled health care professionals – including specialists from across UVM Health Network, when needed – who take an active role in your health and wellbeing.

Adult Primary Care

Adult primary care, or internal medicine, supports adults 18 and over. Patients receive comprehensive preventive care, diagnosis and treatment for new and routine health concerns, and help with managing chronic conditions. Learn More.

Family Medicine offers care for the entire family, from infants to older adults. Patients receive continuity of care throughout life, including the prevention, diagnosis and treatment for new and routine health concerns and support for chronic conditions. Learn More.

Pediatric Primary Care

Pediatric Primary Care provides comprehensive, family-centered care for infants, children and adolescents. From routine check-ups and immunizations, to care for illness and chronic conditions, patients receive compassionate support as they grow. Learn More.

If you are having trouble managing health issues and well-being or following your care plan, you can ask your primary care provider if you might benefit from Care Management support.

Gynecology & Obstetrics

Primary care providers also often provide comprehensive gynecology and obstetrics care. Ob/Gyn services range from preventive and routine gynecological care to obstetrical services, including labor and delivery. Learn More.

Geriatric Care

Geriatric medicine helps patients 65+ to maintain wellness as they age. Patients receive coordinated care for overlapping and interacting medical issues that may grow increasingly complex with age, such as balance, memory issues and more. Learn More.

Weekend Care and Urgent Care

Illness and injury can happen at any time. Weekend Care is available by appointment for all UVM Medical Center Primary Care patients. Urgent Care offers walk-in care seven days a week.

Gender-Affirming Care

Our primary care providers and other specialists provide expert gender-inclusive care to support individuals in their embodiment of their gender identity. We offer a full range of gender-affirming services for gender-diverse adults who want to start or continue medical therapy.

Mental Health

Your mental health is as important to your health and well-being as other common measures of your physical health. The UVM Health Network is working to integrate mental health care into all of our primary care practices.
