Adolescent Medicine

Adolescent Medicine at Golisano Children's Hospital

Preteens and teenagers have unique health care concerns and needs. Adolescent medicine is a specialized field of pediatrics that focuses on the medical needs of preteens and teens.

At Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Vermont Health, our adolescent medicine program delivers teen-specific services in a caring environment that promotes trust. We help youths up to age 17 feel confident taking charge of their health.

Why Choose Golisano Children's Hospital?

As the region’s only dedicated adolescent medicine program, we offer:

  • Dedicated team of experts: Your care team includes a provider with advanced training and board certification in adolescent medicine, additional medical providers, social workers and psychologists. Our experts are uniquely qualified to manage and treat issues that affect adolescents.
  • Confidential care: We build relationships with our patients and their families. We adhere to confidentiality laws and guidelines, offering teens the opportunity to speak to us privately. We also respect the important role parents and guardians play in their lives.
  • Collaborative approach: We work closely with primary care providers and community-based care providers as needed. We have the expertise and resources to assist with complex teen health care challenges.
