About Our Location
As part of the University of Vermont Cancer Center, the FitzPatrick Cancer Treatment Center provides a coordinated, patient-centered approach to cancer treatment.
Since opening in 1990, the FitzPatrick Cancer Treatment Center has set a new standard of cancer care in Clinton, Franklin and Essex counties. Named after the late James FitzPatrick, a dedicated supporter of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, the Cancer Center’s mission has been to harness the collective talents of a variety of health care professionals under one roof and provide the highest quality of cancer care possible.
Our Facilities Include:
- The da Vinci Surgical Robot system, located in our surgery department, expands the treatment options further for patients with prostate or gynecological cancers.
- The Women’s Imaging Center, located in Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Health Plaza, offers high-quality mammography services.
Everyone from the staff who check me in to the nurses who encourage and support me; to my PA who is going above and beyond to help me understand how to survive my cancer treatment. They are giving me the kindness, strength and support I need.

Need help finding more information about your cancer diagnosis or treatments? Look for a Cancer Resource Volunteer in the FitzPatrick Cancer Treatment Center’s lobby. They are specially trained volunteers dedicated to helping you and your family get the answers you need.
There is someone available Monday through Friday. They can be reached by calling 518-562-7100, ext. 5010, or emailing volunteer@cvph.org.
Awards & Certifications
American College of Surgeons Accreditation
The FitzPatrick Cancer Treatment Center is accredited as a community comprehensive cancer center by the American College of Surgeons, the nationally recognized cancer accrediting agency. This status is reserved for only those centers that meet rigid requirements regarding the comprehensiveness of services, education of staff and the quality of care provided.
American College of Radiology Accreditation
All radiation oncology facilities in University of Vermont Health maintain accreditation from the American College of Radiology or the American College of Radiation Oncology for radiation oncology excellence. These distinctions are only awarded to top programs that consistently deliver safe, high-quality care.
