Leading-Edge Care, Trusted Expertise

Orthopedic injuries and chronic orthopedic conditions can have a significant effect on your quality of life. They cause pain, disrupt your routines and stop you from participating in your favorite activities. At University of Vermont Health, our team of orthopedic experts provides advanced, compassionate care to help get you back to doing the things you love.

Our orthopedic specialists provide the most comprehensive care available in the region. We offer many services not available elsewhere in Vermont or northern New York, such as pediatric orthopedic care, orthopedic oncology, complex spine surgery and complex reconstructive surgeries.

We treat more people for orthopedic needs than any other health system in the area. Your care is in the hands of experienced, highly trained experts with the skills to treat the entire range of orthopedic problems, including complex and difficult-to-treat conditions.

Why Choose UVM Health?

We pride ourselves on a personalized, patient-centered approach. Our team spends time listening to your needs and discussing your preferences and concerns. We then create tailored treatment plans that start with nonsurgical care whenever possible, only turning to surgery when it’s the most effective option.

As a leading orthopedic programs in the region, we offer:

  • Subspecialized expertise and skill: Our physicians, therapists and advanced practice providers have specialty training in specific areas of orthopedic care. Many of our board-certified physicians have completed additional fellowships to offer you specialized care.
  • Access to specialists: Our team approach allows us to expand access to appointments. We can quickly coordinate care with other specialists from across our health system, such as endocrinologists, rheumatologists, neurologists and oncologists.
  • Coordinated care, close to home: You have access to world-class orthopedic care at clinics throughout the region. Our orthopedic specialists all use the same electronic medical record, allowing us to seamlessly coordinate transfers to higher levels of care when appropriate. Digital health appointments give you access to follow-up care without leaving the comfort of your home.
  • Research emphasis: As part of a health system anchored by an academic medical center, our physician-leaders are active researchers.
