A Message from our Program Director

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in our Family Medicine Residency Program!

We are a rural training program deeply committed to community health and full-scope family medicine. Located at the northern tip of the Adirondack Mountains and bordered by Lake Champlain, our region offers a beautiful, natural backdrop for residents to balance robust training and personal wellness. It’s also the perfect environment for exciting, hands-on electives like our Wilderness Medicine rotation!

Our affiliation with University of Vermont offers residents the best of both worlds: a comprehensive, hands-on experience in a community setting paired with the academic resources of a larger institution. Throughout their training, our residents work closely with specialists in one-on-one settings, gaining mentorship and building a network of professional connections that will support them well beyond graduation.

As a native of Plattsburgh, I’m proud to call the North Country my home. I’ve been with this program since its inception in 2015—first as faculty, then as associate program director, and now as program director. I feel privileged to serve this community by helping to train and retain our next generation of family physicians.

We are seeking residents who are passionate about full-scope care and eager to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in a rural community. If that sounds like you, we invite you to learn more and consider joining our team.
