School of Radiologic Technology

Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital
School of Radiologic Technology
A radiologist helps a patient with a scan.

Our mission is to provide a quality education in the radiographic sciences, utilizing current, progressive, competency-based clinical/didactic methods of instruction to prepare our graduates for a professional career as a radiographer and qualify to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) examination.

A radiographer examines patients for broken bones, ulcers, tumors, diseases or malfunctions of various organs by producing diagnostic images, ready for the physician's interpretation. In many instances, the radiographer works independently, while for some advanced procedures the radiologist and radiographer work together as a team.

Since 1965, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital's School of Radiologic Technology has trained radiographers in delivering exceptional patient care and:

  • Image production through positioning of patients
