Community Health Investment Fund
The University of Vermont Medical Center's Community Health Investment Fund is overseen by the UVM Medical Center's Community Health Investment Committee, which includes seven UVM Medical Center employees and seven community members, and is chaired by the UVM Medical Center's Associate Chief Medical Officer. The fund invests up to $850,000 annually in both external and internal community benefit programs that further the priority areas identified in the UVM Medical Center's community health needs
The 2020-2022 priority areas are: Mental Health and Childhood/Family Health

The University of Vermont Medical Center will invest in community initiatives that improve the overall health of our community. Projects must address either Mental Health or Childhood/Family Health, which were needs identified in the UVM Medical Center's 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment.
All people experience optimal mental well-being
All children/families experience optimal health and well-being in safe and supportive environments
Strategies should focus on one or more of the following:
- Social & Community Connection
- Addressing the Social Determinants of Health for Families
- Access to Services (Mental Health and Childhood/Family)
- Social & Emotional Well-Being Support
- Substance Misuse Prevention
- Cradle to Career Success
The University of Vermont Medical Center favors projects that address innovation and lead to lasting change, demonstrate value, utilize collaboration, include goals towards financial sustainability, show a unique, creative way to address an emerging need in ways which might lead to a new best practice or rely on established best practices and/or demonstrate organization's understanding of its role in broader human service community.
Applicants must be a 501(c)3 organization or a governmental organization and projects should be located in the UVM Medical Center's primary health service area (Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties).
