About Our Location
Cardiac rehabilitation at University of Vermont Health - UVM Medical Center supports your recovery after a heart attack, heart surgery or other heart condition. We offer inpatient and outpatient services, including exercise, behavior change and heart-health education.
Our world-class 2,200-square-foot space features the latest exercise equipment. The facility offers 13 treadmills, four rowers, five ellipticals, three upright bikes, three recumbent bikes, Nu-steps and a variety of free weights. Abundant natural light and sweeping views of Mount Mansfield provide a motivating, inviting atmosphere.
Our Program
Our program happens in three phases:
- Phase I: Takes place in the hospital.
- Phase II: Continued cardiac rehabilitation on an outpatient basis after your discharge. This period lasts three to six months.
- Phase III: Long-term exercise maintenance programs if you would like to continue your care.
We also offer the “Move to Lose” Weight Loss Program. This is a medically managed weight loss program that combines a 16-week support group with a physical activity program.
