At UVM Health, our people are our strength. Our employees and students bring diverse knowledge, lived experiences and perspectives to their roles. We support their journeys in creating a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment.
Employee Resource Groups
Our employee resource groups (ERGs) are led by staff and focus on employee and patient experience, community outreach and recruitment to creating a more inclusive workplace. Each group meets monthly to share, learn and grow together, and all employees are welcome. REACH (Racial Equity and Cultural Humility) uplifts our BIPOC employees, while SAGE (Sexuality and Gender Equity) supporting our LGBTQIA+ employees.
Workforce Development
We are dedicated to providing training and development opportunities to our employees to help them to gain the skills, education and professional certifications they need to establish rewarding careers in health care. We offer a number of programs — ranging from our registered nurse program, respiratory therapy program to our medical laboratory technician program.
Inclusion Trainings
As part of our ongoing commitment to cultural humility and equitable patient care, we offer foundational diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training to all employees. We aim to foster a more inclusive environment for both our staff and the communities we serve.
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, and we continue to explore new ways to expand learning opportunities across our organization.
Our Students
As an academic health system, we’re shaping the future of health care. We are committed to integrating education and research into our core strategic pillars. We partner with the Larner College of Medicine, the University of Vermont and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences to prepare a diverse, innovative workforce.
