Recent Graduates

Colin Tkatch, M.D.

2022-2024

Colin grew up in rural Pennsylvania and did all of his prior medical training closer to home. He moved his young family up to Vermont and spent an amazing two years with us. In addition to ID he is passionate about underserved populations, rural medicine and treating substance use disorder – in his spare time during ID fellowship he developed our hospital’s methadone protocol. He is now faculty at the University of Pittsburgh, but we look forward to his visits!

Peter Hyson, M.D.

2021-2023

Dr. Hyson joined the faculty at UVM upon graduating and is continuing his fellowship research on Babesia. You can read more in his Faculty Bios.

Katherine Peterson, DO

2020-2022

Kate grew up in Maine and made a stop in Colorado before returning to New England for her medical training. Our favorite foodie and cat mom spent one blissful year with us on faculty after graduating from ID fellowship before joining her partner in Minneapolis where she is now an attending at the VA. We miss her!

Sean Bullis, M.D.

2019-2021

We were very excited to have Sean join the faculty after completing fellowship. You can read about him under Faculty Bios.

Prateek Ghatage, M.B.B.S.

2018-2020

Prateek grew up in the tropical climes of Mumbai but took to Vermont life with aplomb. In his time here he became an avid skier and traveled throughout New England pursuing his photography hobby as the seasons changed. Universally beloved among staff and patients alike, we missed him immediately upon his departure to Kansas where he entered solo practice.

Daniela Dimarco, M.D., M.P.H.

2017-2019

Daniela trained in Connecticut and was chief resident before coming to UVM for fellowship. An indefatigable clinician with a kind soul and an infectious laugh, her clinic patients still ask about her. She currently practices at the University of Rochester near where she grew up, called home by her little niece who missed her dearly.
