I had the opportunity to tailor the year to my own unique interests and focus on areas that would prepare me best for the work I would be doing as an attending. Outside of the program, I love the access to outdoor activities including hiking the many nearby hills and mounts, wintertime skiing, and kayaking and sailing the lake in the summer!

The robust training opportunities and vast pathology make training at UVMMC exceptional, but the real reason I chose UVM EM was because of the people and culture. There’s an overwhelming sense of community, mentorship, contagious enthusiasm, and camaraderie that I am confident has shaped me into becoming a better person and physician.

Idyllic scenes encompass what is unique to Vermont spanning across boating on Lake Champlain to fall foliage with blazing red maple trees along stone walls, to an outdoor winter paradise with dazzling white ski trails. Vermont has some of the friendliest and most welcoming people which provides the perfect environment to perfect my craft.
