Welcome to the UVM Medical Center and the Larner College of Medicine at UVM medical residency and fellowship programs. We offer over 42 residency and fellowship programs in a university based, academically focused setting that provides well-rounded medical training experience in a setting that offers a quality of life that is second to none.
Our 17 residency and 25 fellowship programs take place on our Burlington campus, where more than 320 residents and fellows engage in fulfilling our clinical, research, teaching, and community service missions.
The University of Vermont Medical Center
The University of Vermont Medical Center is the academic anchor of UVM Health Network. As the only academic medical center serving a region of 1 million people across Vermont and northern New York, we educate the next generation of health care professionals, connect patients with the right level of care as close to home as possible and improve community health— in addition to acting as a community hospital serving 150,000 residents in Chittenden and Grand Isle counties in Vermont.
The UVM Larner College of Medicine
Founded in 1822, The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine is the seventh oldest medical school in the nation. In 2016, a gift from Class of 1942 graduate Dr. Robert Larner and his wife, Helen, strengthened the College's efforts to provide a medical education that is second to none. Initiatives included digitizing the curriculum, creating innovative classrooms to facilitate active learning, building an enhanced simulation center to help students learn clinical skills, and the recruitment of an endowed Professor of Medical Education to lead the Teaching Academy.
The University of Vermont Health Network
The University of Vermont Health Network is an integrated, academic rural health system serving a region of more than 1 million people across Vermont and northern New York. With a mission-driven commitment to providing quality care as close to home as possible, we work in essential partnership with the University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine and College of Nursing and Health Sciences to bring the best in care and treatment to our patients, informed by innovation and research.
UVM Health Network DEI Commitment
