Thank you for your interest in the University of Vermont Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program.

We are excited for you to learn more about us and learn why our residents and faculty have chosen to come to UVM.

We accept six candidates per year via the national resident match program (NRMP), with each graduating class advancing to complete competitive fellowships and employment in both academic and private practices. Our nationally and internationally recognized faculty is subspecialized in all fields of clinical radiology and radiologic research. You will learn from outstanding educators and have the opportunity to perform innovative research in an intellectually stimulating and friendly environment.

Why Choose GME at the UVM Medical Center

As someone who loves the outdoors, there is no better place than Burlington VT. Every activity you could possibly imagine is within a one-hour radius – skiing, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, you name it. Heading to the mountains with a 4-pack of craft beer and a couple co-residents is the perfect afternoon in my opinion.

Allison Forrest, MD

After graduating from medical school at UVM, I was thrilled to return to Vermont with my family. I am a Breast Imager working closely with the residency as Education Director for Breast and Assistant Professor for UVM. When I’m not at work I enjoy running, alpine and nordic skiing, and chasing my two daughters in our backyard. I feel truly grateful to live in such a beautiful place with such a warm and supportive community.

My interest in Vermont was solidified through the exceptional interview experience. Everyone was incredibly kind and genuinely interested in who I was as a person. After moving to Burlington, I can easily say it’s equally as beautiful as the people are friendly. Burlington is also a dog friendly city with no shortage of great beer, good food, and wonderful people.

Born and raised in Scranton, PA, I attended the University of Utah. I followed the snow to Vermont and attended UVM for medical school. I had an absolute blast in med school in Burlington, and I really enjoyed my time here in Radiology as a student. After completing my residency interviews, I knew that UVM was the right place to call home for my next phase of training. The clinical training is second to none.

I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. When it came time to select a residency for training, I realized I was looking to try something a bit different! I had spent many summers on Lake Champlain and knew how beautiful and welcoming Burlington is. On interview day, I was particularly impressed by the approachable and supportive faculty. After starting, I’ve felt supported not only by our faculty, but also an incredible group of co-residents!
