We are dedicated to outstanding service and putting our patients first.

Our nationally recognized physicians and healthcare professionals are dedicated researchers and teachers who are experts on the latest developments in their fields.

An Integrated System of Care

Through our partnerships with The Robert Larner, MD College of Medicine at The University of Vermont and the UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences from Vermont's University Medical Center, we aim to improve our region's quality of life with innovations in medicine and health care that arise from new knowledge and discovery.

We also collaborate with Central Vermont Medical Center, Porter Medical Center, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Elizabethtown Community Hospital, Alice Hyde Medical Center, Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Inter-Lakes Health, Home Health & Hospice, (formerly the Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle counties), and the UVM Health Network Medical Group. Because of these relationships, we're able to deliver all of the resources and opportunities of a major medical center and serve our patients with the breadth and depth of services in a wide array of specialties.

Together with our partners and associates, we're building an integrated healthcare system to improve access to local care in the communities of Vermont and northern New York, which also allows for purchasing efficiencies and shared information technology. Learn more about our partnerships.

Central to the Health of Vermont and Northern New York Communities

Serving a population of more than 1 million people in Vermont and northern New York and approximately 160,000 residents in Chittenden and Grand Isle counties, The UVM Medical Center provides a full range of tertiary-level inpatient and outpatient services and provides primary care services at 10 Vermont locations.

We have earned the distinction of being designated a Level I Trauma Center and we are home to the University of Vermont Children's Hospital, a full-service hospital within a hospital that was named to U.S. News & World Report Best Children's Hospitals list for 2012 – 2013.

In addition, The UVM Medical Center is creating an integrated family of patient-centered medical homes, which foster a team approach to improving health outcomes for patients.

Environmental Commitment

When it comes to the health of our patients and the community, we understand that food matters. We take responsibility for the food we serve by partnering with more than 70 regional farmers and producers to supply healthier food to our patients and customers, while also boosting the local economy. We strive to be the greenest healthcare organization in the country by reducing our energy consumption and carbon footprint. Learn more about our environmental commitment.
