The mission of the pediatric residency program at the Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Vermont Health in partnership with the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont is to promote the highest levels of humanism in medicine, advocacy for children through community, regional, state, national, and global outreach, the commitment to high quality health care of all children and their families, and the ongoing pursuit of research and scholarly activities.

Core to our philosophy is an emphasis on building our residents as teachers and becoming entrustable/competent and autonomous general pediatricians who are critical thinkers and practice evidence-based medicine.
