The UVM Health Network Research and Education
The scientific and clinical research taking place at The University of Vermont Medical Center, and the education and training of the next generation of providers at each of our network hospitals, makes that possible. Our physicians share the latest findings in academic medicine and collaborate on best practices in community medicine, ensuring that our patients benefit from our collaboration.
The foundation of these efforts lies in the longstanding alliance of The University of Vermont Medical Center and the Larner College of Medicine at UVM and College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Learn more about this strong partnership.

Training the next generation of doctors, nurses and other health professionals is a cornerstone of our academic health network. Students at the Larner College of Medicine at UVM and UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences learn from highly respected practitioners of The University of Vermont Medical Group and receive on-the-job training caring for the residents of Vermont and northern New York through a variety of high-quality programs and partnerships across our network.
For example, The University of Vermont Medical Center's primary care medical education program ranks as one of the very best in the country, and in a new partnership with The University of Vermont Health Network - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, the network is using that resource to train medical school graduates in the North Country through the Champlain Valley Family Residency Program.
Continuous learning is a way of life for all our providers. As teachers and researchers, they stay abreast of the latest developments in their fields and bring that knowledge to their students and patients.
