Experiencing elbow joint pain?
If you're looking for the most experienced hand specialists in the region, you can count on our hand surgery and hand therapy team at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
At the UVM Medical Center, our hand specialists and surgeons diagnose, evaluate and treat the full range of elbow problems - from chronic elbow pain like tennis elbow to fractures and other traumatic injuries of the elbow.
Hand Surgeons and Therapists
The UVM Medical Center's team of board-certified hand surgeons, experienced nurses and therapists are as knowledgeable and caring as you'll find anywhere in the area. Our three University of Vermont (UVM) Medical Group hand surgeons are fellowship-trained and board-certified with a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Surgery of the Hand.
Our experienced team includes nationally and internationally recognized specialists in the field of elbow surgery, who help teach other surgeons how to perform hand, wrist and elbow procedures. As University of Vermont faculty members, they are also involved in research and in educating medical students and orthopedic residents, which ensures that your care is informed by the latest medical knowledge.
Each therapist of our Hand Therapy team is an occupational therapist (OT) or physical therapist (PT), who has completed a minimum of five years of additional medical training experience in treating injuries of the hand, wrist, fingers, and elbow. Our occupational therapists and physical therapists are located at the Orthopedics and Rehabilition Center, so your care is centered in one location. This offers you the convenience of scheduling an appointment with your surgeon and physical therapist on the same day. In addition to the fact that we perform our outpatient surgeries on-site, we have an MRI and rehabilitation center, all under the same roof.

UVM Medical Center hand surgeons, non-surgical providers and therapists offer the full spectrum of care for a range of elbow joint problems, including non-operative and conservative treatment for the management of pain, casting of simple elbow fractures, elbow arthoscopy, and total elbow joint replacement. We work closely with you and your family, sharing information and education about different treatment options, helping you choose the right course of treatment for your condition, and determine what treatment best fits your goals and your lifestyle.
