Board of Trustees

University of Vermont Health - UVM Medical Center Board of Trustees is a dedicated group of community volunteers who provide strategic guidance and oversight for the organization. They steer decisions around clinical excellence, community care and organizational sustainability, ensuring we fulfill our mission to serve patients and the region effectively.

Board Composition and Terms

UVM Medical Center Board of Trustees has 15 members, plus the president of the medical staff and four ex-officio trustees, including the CEO of UVM Health, the UVM Medical Center president, the dean of UVM College of Medicine and the dean of UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Each trustee serves a four-year term and may serve any number of additional terms as long as no more than two full terms are served consecutively. Trustees do not receive compensation for their service, other than expense reimbursements. The Terms of elected trustees are staggered to allow one fourth of the members’ terms to expire each year.

Board Meetings

As Chair of UVM Medical Center Board of Trustees, I am committed to ensuring that UVM Medical Center Board conducts business in an open, transparent and inclusive manner. Accordingly, the Board holds six board meetings that include a public session in which the public is given an opportunity for comment.
