We’re committed to creating a healthy work environment where nurses excel and feel empowered as an integral part of the team.
Nurse Led, Nurse Inspired
By ensuring a healthy work environment for our nurses — one grounded in teamwork, shared decision-making, safety and professional growth — we align with national standards, while staying focused on what matters most: helping nurses thrive so our patients can too.
Our Pathway to Excellence
Led by our nurses, we are applying for Pathway to Excellence designation, which reflects our commitment to creating a workplace where every nurse feels valued, supported and empowered to deliver the very best care.
Since our last submission in 2023, we’ve been identifying gaps and building momentum — expanding professional development resources, growing our voice in decision making and strengthening our culture.
Our team of nursing excellence champions is preparing our submission to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), but they need you! Your stories, your experiences, your voice — these are what bring our commitment to life.
This is your chance to show the world what makes our nurses exceptional.

What is Pathway to Excellence?
Pathway to Excellence is a national designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) that recognizes organizations where nurses feel heard, supported and safe and where leadership is accountable for creating a healthy practice environment.
At its core, Pathway focuses on the everyday realities of nursing practice — six pillars that include:
- Shared Decision Making: Nurses have a seat at the table when decisions affect their practice.
- Leadership: Nurse leaders are accessible, listen to concerns and follow through.
- Safety: A culture of safety and trust — and systems designed to support safe care.
- Quality: Nurses are active partners in improving the quality of care, not just recipients of change.
- Well-being: Staff are recognized and supported with resources to promote their physical and mental health. Burnout is addressed, not normalized.
- Professional Growth: Nurses are encouraged to develop their skills and advance in ways that align with their goals.
Pathway is not about perfection. It’s about ensuring we have the infrastructure and culture to support a positive work environment for our nurses — higher job satisfaction and retention, lower burnout and safe, high-quality care.
