Pediatric Hospital Medicine

Pediatric Hospitalist Care at Golisano Children's Hospital

Pediatric hospitalists are doctors who specialize in caring for children who are admitted to the hospital. We are the quarterbacks of your child’s treatment team, coordinating all the services they need during a hospital stay. One of our specialists is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to care for hospitalized infants, children and adolescents.

At Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Vermont Health, we specialize in medical care and in kids. Our team includes physicians with subspecialty training in pediatric hospitalist medicine.

What to Expect

Our pediatric hospitalists are experts who guide you through your child’s time in the hospital. Many families interact with them only once. For children who are frequently hospitalized, our pediatric hospitalists offer continuity of care.

You may encounter pediatric hospitalists in several settings including the:

In all of these settings, the pediatric hospitalist comes to meet your family and review your child’s needs. They serve as your child’s primary doctor during a hospital stay to diagnose and manage illness, help answer questions and coordinate specialty care as needed.
