About Our Location
At University of Vermont Health – Central Vermont Medical Center, our experienced registered dietitians (RDs) and registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) have specialized training in the therapeutic management of acute and chronic disease.
Our Services
All inpatients are screened for their nutritional risks as part of the admission process. For a patient at nutritional risk, an appropriate plan of care will be developed by a trained RD and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Patients may also receive nutrition intervention upon request. We strive to include family and other caregivers in a patient’s nutritional care.
Medical nutrition therapy, including education, is provided for the following conditions:
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Gastrointestinal disorders such as colitis, pancreatitis, Crohn’s disease and celiac disease. Diet during cancer treatment
- Weight loss or gain program
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Cardiac disease
- Wound healing
- Malnutrition
- Enteral and parenteral nutrition
- Other conditions as warranted
