Anatomic Pathology

Anatomic Pathology

Anatomic pathology diagnoses diseases based on tissue and fluid samples collected from patients. Our highly skilled pathologists offer a range of specialized services and consultations to meet your needs.

Autopsy (Hospital Pathology)

Academic autopsies are performed on patients post-mortem to answer questions regarding the nature of the deceased’s illness, cause of death or co-existing conditions. Autopsies may be requested by a physician or a family member.

Cytopathology

Cytopathology involves the microscopic evaluation of cellular samples to aid in diagnosing cancer, precancerous lesions, benign tumors and inflammatory and infectious diseases.

Lab Services

Evaluation of:

  • Fine needle aspirations (FNA) of palpable lesions (soft tissue and subcutaneous masses)
  • Non-gynecological specimens (such as bronchial brushings and voided urine)
  • Pap tests (using Hologic ThinPrep imaging technology)

We are also able to perform and interpret palpation-guided FNAs.

Rapid on-site evaluations may be available, allowing for immediate specimen triage. Please contact our lab for more information.

We also offer cytopathology consultation services for specimens collected and/or evaluated elsewhere.
