Podcast: Jayne's Journey
Discover the power of palliative care.
For too long, palliative care has been misunderstood — seen as giving up or passively accepting the end of life. In reality, it can be about living fully, even in the face of serious illness.
When Jayne Dobrin’s health declined due to kidney disease in 2024, her husband, Steve, and their adult daughters faced difficult decisions and emotional conversations. That’s when they turned to the palliative care team at UVM Health – University of Vermont Medical Center. This compassionate group of nurses, social workers, physicians and other professionals helped guide the family through complex medical transitions, coordinate care and find peace during Jayne’s final days.
In this episode, follow Jayne and Steve’s journey as Steve shares how palliative care made a difference for his family. You’ll also hear from UVM Health experts about why early conversations with loved ones and your care team matter — and how palliative care can help you live your best life, even during the hardest times.
Listen now and learn how palliative care is changing lives.
