About Me
My path to medicine was shaped by a longstanding commitment to addressing health inequities, beginning with my Peace Corps service in The Gambia and reinforced by my public health training. I was inspired to pursue emergency medicine because it allows me to provide compassionate care to people during their most vulnerable moments.
Today, I care for diverse populations in Vermont and northern New York and support emergency care system strengthening initiatives internationally. I am passionate about global emergency care, tropical medicine and humanitarian response, especially in settings with limited resources.
One of the most formative experiences in my career was serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in The Gambia. Living and working in a rural community taught me the importance of strong, equal partnerships in improving health outcomes — an approach that continues to guide my practice today.
My current research focuses on strengthening emergency care systems in low-resource and humanitarian settings through education and capacity-building for frontline providers. I’ve led projects evaluating WHO/ICRC Basic Emergency Care training in Kenya, Liberia, Somalia and Jamaica, and WHO Mass Casualty Management training in conflict-affected regions like Ukraine and Somalia.
I want my patients to know that I am committed to making high-quality emergency care accessible to all communities — locally and globally. The belief that everyone deserves timely and effective care guides both my bedside practice and global health work.
Outside of medicine, I recharge by spending time with the people (and pup) I love. I enjoy hiking, traveling and exploring new places.
I want my patients to know that I am committed to making high-quality emergency care accessible to all communities — locally and globally.
