Fundraising events are critical to our effort to secure support for indispensable programs throughout Golisano Children's Hospital.

Supporting Essential Programs with Community-Driven Events

Community-based fundraising events foster awareness, hope and healing, and help ensure that everyone in our region has access to the world-class care they need, close to home. We coordinate events of all types and sizes and encourage community members to host their own events to raise funds for areas that are meaningful to them or participate in our cancer care and children’s health events. Whether you’re teeing off in our Golf Classic or turning your high school athletic match into a fundraiser, we invite you to support our patients and families by attending, donating and volunteering for a cause that’s meaningful to you.

To learn more about hosting a fundraiser, a good place to start is our Event Proposal Form.

Every penny we raise supports local patient care, research and education, providing hope for the children and families we serve.

Your support helps us provide thousands of children and their families with the highest quality care available in Vermont and northern New York.

We want to make sure your efforts pay off and we are able to accept the funds you raise. Please read the instructions below carefully to ensure a successful event.

If you need help at any time, we are happy to assist you. Please contact us at 802-656-2887 or events@uvmhealth.org if you have questions.

How to Get Started
  • Decide on the type of event you’ll be holding. There are many fun ways to bring people together and raise funds, so choose an event that resonates with you.
  • Let us know what you are planning. Read our Third-Party Fundraising Guidelines and complete the Third-Party Fundraising Proposal Form (pages 3-4).
  • Form a committee to help plan and organize your event or project. As you move forward, consider the interest, talents, goals and time availability of your team.
  • Determine your target audience. Who is most likely to attend and support your event or project? Are you trying to attract the general public or a specific audience?
  • Think about how you could promote the event to get your friends, family and community excited.
Things to Keep in Mind
  • You are responsible for recruiting all volunteers for your event.
  • Individuals under 18 must have an adult advisor to oversee the coordination of a school or community event or project.
  • Printed and other materials should state that your event is benefiting Golisano Children's Hospital.
  • All necessary permits and certificates of insurance required by city ordinance or otherwise are the fundraising group’s responsibility.
  • Due to confidentiality, we cannot release patient, family, donor, volunteer, employee, physician or other mailing lists for the purpose of soliciting funds or promoting your event or project.

If circumstances warrant, Golisano Children's Hospital may opt out as a beneficiary of the event.
