About Me

I'm passionate about providing empathetic care to patients during illness and in health.

I focus my work with patients on providing information and education so that they can participate in making decisions about managing their health. My goal is for the patient to feel that they are part of the team of care providers rather than outside it.

I focus on lifestyle interventions to control chronic disease, specifically pulmonary rehabilitation, a validated intervention that improves health care outcomes and quality of life in patients with lung disease.

But I also recognize that external stressors can worsen disease control. Ultimately, I work on reducing the burden of disease to the greatest extent possible.

My goal is for the patient to feel that they are part of the team of care providers rather than outside it.

  • Dr Menson is probably one of the best specialists that I have seen at UVM. She was very thorough, very knowledgeable of my medical history, addressed preventative health measures that I could take and partnered with me on a plan moving forward.
  • This was my first virtual visit with Dr. Menson; my other visits with her have always been in person. I see a number of specialists and she is by far one of the bestI made this comment to my husband at the end of the phone call. She weaves together providing information with compassion. She listens carefully to what I'm saying; directly answers my questions and, depending on the question, may offer additional information that I don't yet know to ask. Sometimes I feel less satisfied with a virtual appt; this definitely wasn't the case with Dr. Menson. And I wouldn't hesitate to request a virtual appt again with her.
