About Me
I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by the unique opportunity to combine scientific reasoning, technical skill and human connection in service of others. As an emergency medicine physician, I find it incredibly rewarding to help patients during some of their most challenging moments.
I am currently further developing my skills as a Wilderness Medicine Fellow while working toward my Diploma in Mountain Medicine. I am passionate about learning how to rapidly assess and safely care for patients in remote environments where resources are limited, and I enjoy bringing those lessons back to the practice of emergency medicine.
An experience that deeply shaped my approach to medicine was caring for my own grandmother when she was hospitalized during my residency. It reinforced the importance of listening closely to patients and their families and understanding not only their medical condition, but also their fears, values and goals. I strive to carry that perspective into every patient encounter.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active through trail running, hiking with my dog, skiing and going to the gym. I also enjoy reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with my church community.
