The drug fezolinetant, has been prescribed since 2023 to women in menopause to reduce the severity of hot flashes. A new study at UVM Cancer Center is discovering that the same drug may help men undergoing prostate cancer treatment who also experience the same symptom. About 20-30% of men undergoing the hormone-based prostate cancer treatment experience moderate to severe hot flashes. In severe cases, some men may choose to stop cancer treatment.
