The 2010 affiliation agreement among UVM Medical Center, UVM and the UVM Medical Group requires that principal investigators obtain approval of a "billing plan" for studies involving UVM Medical Center patients or resources before enrolling study subjects.
The UVM Medical Center Integrity and Compliance Department has worked with the Office of Clinical Trials Research and the Research Protections Office to create a streamlined process for coverage analysis and billing plan approval.
The Integrity and Compliance Department will contact you once you have submitted a protocol to the IRB. Compliance and the IRB will perform their reviews concurrently. Final IRB approval will not be released until the Integrity and Compliance Department has approved a billing plan.
