Advanced Technologies

Our facilities are designed to support every part of your care experience — from diagnosis and treatment to recovery and prevention.

Across our locations, you’ll find leading-edge cancer technology, thoughtfully designed treatment spaces and supportive environments that prioritize your comfort, privacy and safety.

Our centers combine innovative medical equipment with calming, patient-focused spaces to help you feel confident and cared for at every step of your journey.

Advanced Imaging

We use highly specialized imaging tools to detect cancer earlier and guide the most effective treatment. Featured equipment includes:

  • Dedicated breast MRI scanner: We are one of the only programs in the region with a breast MRI scanner designed specifically for breast imaging. This specialized technology provides highly precise images for patients at increased risk of breast cancer or when other screening tests are inconclusive.
  • 3D mammography (breast imaging): Our 3D mammography technology creates more detailed images than traditional 2D mammograms, improving cancer detection and reducing the need for additional testing.
  • Linear accelerator: This advanced cancer treatment technology precisely delivers high‑energy radiation to destroy tumors while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue, allowing cancer centers to provide safer, more effective and highly targeted radiation therapy.
Treatment Environments

Our treatment areas are designed to make your experience as comfortable and supportive as possible while delivering expert care.

Oncology Infusion Centers

Dedicated oncology infusion clinics are staffed by oncology-certified nurses and advanced practice professionals. These centers feature a healing environment with:

  • Comfortable treatment chairs
  • Heated blankets
  • Complimentary food and beverages
  • Massage therapy and supportive amenities
  • A consistent care team that gets to know you and your preferences

Stem Cell Transplant & Immunotherapy Suites

Patients receiving stem cell transplants receive care in private rooms in the Miller Building at University of Vermont Medical Center. These specialized rooms include enhanced air filtration systems to protect you from infection while your immune system rebuilds.

Radiation Therapy Sites

Our radiation oncology facilities combine advanced treatment technology with thoughtfully designed spaces that support your well-being.

  • Greater privacy and convenience: Each treatment area includes exam rooms, changing rooms, bathrooms and lockers. Changing areas are located next to treatment rooms, so you don’t need to pass through public spaces before or after your session.
  • Leading-edge treatment technology: We use advanced tumor localization and treatment tools, including on-board electronic imaging, to deliver highly precise radiation therapy.
  • Bright, modern spaces: Treatment areas are designed to maximize natural daylight through windows and skylights, creating a calming atmosphere and connection to the outdoors.
  • Environmentally responsible design: Our facilities are designed with efficient energy systems and low chemical-emitting materials to improve comfort and indoor air quality.
