About Our Location
At University of Vermont Health - UVM Medical Center, our experienced registered dietitians (RDs) and registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) have specialized training in the therapeutic management of acute and chronic disease.
We offer customized nutrition plans and one-on-one counseling to help you manage your health and make positive lifestyle changes.
Your Appointment
During your initial consultation, a registered dietitian will ask you questions about your medical conditions, your personal eating habits and your lifestyle. We will use this information to assess how your current diet may be affecting your health and help you identify goals for treatment.
Your RD will then create a comprehensive meal plan designed to help you meet your personal nutrition goals, taking your food preferences and dietary restrictions into account. We will offer educational materials and practical tips to help you with:
- Grocery shopping
- Meal preparation
- Eating in restaurants
- Making healthy lifestyle choices
During follow-up visits, your RD will track your progress, help you work through any difficulties sticking to your treatment plan and monitor health changes.
