Dr. Kenneth Najarian, devoted husband and father and an avid outdoorsman, was tragically killed while cycling alone in Ferrisburgh, VT on the afternoon of June 17th, 2015. A Professor of Radiology at the University of Vermont Medical Center and Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology, Ken was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of St. Lawrence University and received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. After completing a medical internship at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, CO, he returned to UVM for his Diagnostic Radiology Residency.
Following fellowships in Ultrasound and Computed Tomography at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and Interventional Radiology at the Rhode Island Hospital of Brown University, Ken returned to UVM to establish the modern-day Interventional Radiology service. Ken was the consummate clinical radiologist and a superb educator and innovator, setting high standards for himself and those with whom he worked and that he trained. His legacy as a caring and compassionate advocate for his patients set a high standard that this invited Radiology/Urology lectureship commemorates.
