A special note about living in Vermont and training at UVM: I had such invaluable experiences as a I resident and fellow that I knew I wanted to continue my training here. The hospital is unique in that it acts both as the community hospital for Burlington proper, but also the primary academic center for the state of Vermont and most of northern New York. There is also a great variety of interventional pathology from STEMI/ cardiogenic shock to complex CTO PCI. All the faculty are all kind, supportive, and have made this place feel like a second home for me!

Career Interests or Plans: Interventional cardiology – Coronary/ PCI

Facts/Hobbies

  • I was born and raised on Long Island, New York but consider myself a “native” Vermonter since I’ve lived and worked here for 6 years now.
  • My wife, Christine, and I have a ten-year-old Beagle mix named Ernie who loves to come with us on hikes.
  • Outside the hospital, I enjoy hiking, running, fishing, snowboarding, playing on the UVM resident-fellow soccer team, and exploring Vermont’s craft breweries.

About living in VT and training at UVM:
After having lived in Florida for 6 years, and being from Belgium, I was drawn to Vermont for its beautiful nature and seasons. You are also very close to the rest of the New England area as well as Canada, so you can do infinite exploring.

Training at UVM gives you exposure to very complex coronary disease that will prepare you well for anything that you will encounter after your training. There is a great variety of pathology and subsequent interventions that we treat here at UVM. On top of that, the faculty are very supportive, approachable and will make you feel comfortable the minute you enter the cath lab.

Career plans:
Interventional Cardiology – coronary/PCI
