Hi, my name is Sami. I am an endocrinology fellow at the University of Vermont Medical Center, The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine. I joined the endocrinology program in July 2023. Prior to joining The University of Vermont, I was a practicing internist in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; helping patients in Acute Internal Medicine services and Acute Care of the Elderly. I also hold a position as Clinical Instructor of Medicine with University of British Columbia Department of Medicine. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary, followed by medical education at the Ross University School of Medicine where I graduated with High Honors. Subsequently, I completed Internal Medicine residency at UCLA-Kern Medical in Bakersfield/Los Angeles, California in 2017 followed by fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Southern California in 2018.
Throughout my years in medicine, I have enjoyed practicing evidence-based, patient tailored medicine while having been fortunate in being a part of amazing educational institutions which now includes The University of Vermont. I am a member of American Board of Internal Medicine, in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. I am also member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, holding designation of Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. I have worked on several research papers throughout the years, case studies and medical conferences. I have attended multiple conferences and meetings thus far as an Endocrine fellow and have had the privilege of presenting among peers and experts, expanding my connections within the field. I enjoy working out, exploring new cities and communities. Living in Burlington with its beautiful scenery, Lake Champlain along with having the advantage of being in the New England area and proximity to eastern Canada has been incredible.
