Home Interventions for Safety Solutions (HISS)
HISS Program at UVM Health
Home Interventions for Safety Solutions (HISS) is a program offered through the Injury Prevention Program and Mobile Integrated Health at University of Vermont Medical Center. Our program is designed to meet the needs of individuals who experience barriers preventing them from seeking traditional care and support.
Community Paramedics meet you at your home to provide a complete assessment of your health and home environment. The Community Paramedics will work with you to create a plan to improve your quality of life and make your home feel safe again. They can even implement basic home modifications during the appointment, such as installation of grab bars or hand railings.
