Cacchio has built a career in community banking across upstate New York and currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Champlain National Bank. He started his career as a bank examiner for the Comptroller of the Currency in Syracuse, then held several roles at Alliance Bank, ultimately serving as senior vice president overseeing all retail operations. Cacchio later became chief operating officer of the Savings Bank of Danbury, Connecticut. A graduate of the University of Hartford, Cacchio earned a master’s degree in accounting from Syracuse University. He and his wife, Carol, have two sons.
