About Me

Empowering patients to take charge of their health is deeply rewarding. I provide the tools and support needed to make lasting, informed decisions. Through lifestyle and behavior change interventions and lifestyle medicine programs like Skills Before Pills, I focus on preventing and even reversing chronic diseases.

I believe in building strong, collaborative relationships with my patients and using shared decision-making to create personalized care plans that reflect their unique needs and goals. I want patients to feel heard, involved and genuinely invested in their health journey.

I take a holistic, patient-centered approach to health care, focusing on prevention, education and empowering patients to take control of their health. I work collaboratively with patients of all ages to create personalized, evidence-based care plans that align with their unique goals and values.

By combining traditional primary care with the therapeutic interventions of lifestyle medicine, I aim to prevent, treat and even reverse chronic diseases. Shared decision-making is central to my practice, ensuring patients feel heard, supported and involved in every health journey. I strive to improve my patients' long-term health and quality of life through this approach.

I want patients to feel heard, involved and genuinely invested in their health journey

  • Overall great experience!
  • My doctor a great doctor.
  • The actual providers are very kind and listen to my concerns. They almost always order what I request in terms of labs, imaging etc. They treat me like a human being. I appreciate this.
  • Excellent appointment. I am grateful for my annual physical.
  • Dr. Calkins was great, very happy with her.
  • Dr. Calkins is highly competent, professional and she is approachable. I feel fortunate to be under her care
  • Dr Calkins is my primary care doctor and has been for many years. She's always compassionate and listens attentively to all my medical concerns. Dr Calkins in my honest opinion goes above and beyond in caring for her patients, especially when challenges arise when certain medications are back ordered, unavailable, or the pharmacy loses it in their computer system. I highly recommend Dr Calkins as a primary care physician and believe many that choose that profession would have a great mentor.
  • She was clear, informative, encouraging and supportive.
  • Good
  • It is hard to get an appointment with Dr. Calkins but she is a great doctor. She was very complete in answering all my questions and is a caring person.
  • Dr. Calkins is the Best! Yall have the nicest doctor/person, who cares about her patients and what they are going through.
  • Excellent
  • Dr. Calkins was awesome. Very considerate and respectful.
  • Doctor was sympathetic and thorough. She tested me for a range of viral issues and prescribed an antibiotic incase the tests for a virus were negative. Later that day, the virus tests all came through as negative so I started the antibiotic and was much better by the third day (Sunday). I am so grateful that she tested yet trusted me to follow directions and only use the antibiotics if the tests were negative. Great experience.
  • Dr was clear and spoke very well. Any follow-up I missed may have been due to my brain fog or due to lack of food.
