About Me
I began my career at University of Vermont Medical Center as an emergency room physician more than 30 years ago. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various leadership roles, including chief medical officer and, more recently, Chief Executive Officer for UVM Health. Before that, I was the medical director of the Emergency Department for several years.
In addition to my clinical and administrative roles, I’ve served as a professor of surgery at the UVM College of Medicine, President of the Medical Staff at UVM Medical Center, President of the Vermont Medical Society and a member of Vizient’s Academic Medical Center CEO Executive Advisory Council.
I earned my medical degree from the UVM Larner College of Medicine and completed my residency training in emergency medicine at the University of New Mexico. I joined the University of Vermont faculty in 1993 and later earned a Master’s in Health Care Delivery Science from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
