I am a new patient in the Dermatology/Rheumatology Clinic. I immediately felt trust in Dr. Barker. She is a good listener, answered all of my questions and she is extremely knowledgeable in a holistic way. I like her because she is positive, enthusiastic and gives me hope. She is initiating a new procedure in my care plan, while exploring new options to lingering problems that I have. She also reports back to me promptly on test results. My appointment with Dr. Barker was, by far, the best appointment I have ever experienced with a specialist. She took the time to explain my clinical picture in a way that made sense. I learned more about my clinical picture in my one appointment with her compared to two other visits with a different specialist, regarding the same issues. Dr. Barker is an excellent doctor. She checked me over thoroughly and told me all she was doing before she did it. She noticed and removed something on my nose, which turns out to be basil cell carcinoma. She did go through what would happen next if that were to be the case. I only wish that I had had a bit more time for my appointment as it felt like we had to move along quickly through the exam in the time allotted - as I get older, it takes me a bit longer to process information especially at medical appointments and I need a bit more time to formulate any questions I might have.
