About Me
I was drawn to health care from an early age, influenced by my mother, a registered nurse, whose dedication to helping others left a lasting impression on me. Growing up surrounded by medical books and encyclopedias, I was fascinated by the human body, disease processes and the science behind medicine. This early interest evolved into a lifelong passion for health care.
As I pursued my career, I knew I wanted to combine my love of science with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Emergency medicine appealed to me for its emphasis on critical thinking, adaptability and teamwork, as well as the chance to care for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.
I find it especially rewarding to help patients and families navigate unexpected illnesses and injuries with compassion and evidence-based care. Whether I am treating a serious condition, offering reassurance or helping someone better understand their health, I value the opportunity to make a positive impact when it matters most.
My background includes more than 15 years in health care. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I worked as a Registered Nurse for 11 years, many of those in the Intensive Care Unit, where I cared for critically ill patients and developed a strong foundation in patient assessment, critical thinking and evidence-based care. Since becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I have continued to expand my experience in urgent care and emergency medicine, evaluating and treating a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries in patients of all ages.
I am especially passionate about patient education and communication. I believe every patient should understand their diagnosis, treatment plan and next steps, and I strive to ensure each person feels heard, respected and actively involved in their care.
My time in the Intensive Care Unit had a profound impact on how I practice today. Caring for critically ill patients — and supporting their families through both recovery and loss — reinforced the importance of compassion, communication and human connection. These experiences shaped my approach to care and strengthened my commitment to supporting patients and families through life’s most challenging moments with honesty and respect.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family. I especially value fishing with my son, as well as gardening and spending time outdoors. I also enjoy rock and metal concerts — particularly metalcore — as a way to unwind and recharge.
I find it especially rewarding to help patients and families navigate unexpected illnesses and injuries with compassion and evidence-based care.
