About Me
I specialize in hematology and transfusion medicine. I serve as an assistant professor at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, with dual appointments in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and the Department of Medicine. I care for patients with nonmalignant hematologic disorders and myeloproliferative neoplasms at the University of Vermont Hematology Clinic.
As the Medical Director of the Blood Bank, I oversee the safety and effectiveness of blood transfusion practices at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
My research focuses on bleeding disorders and the intersection between the immune system and hematologic disease, with a particular interest in acquired hemophilia A.
I completed medical school and internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine; hematology/oncology fellowship training at the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center; and specialized fellowships in transfusion medicine and in bleeding disorders and coagulation at the University of Washington and BloodworksNW.
I am committed to compassionate, evidence-based care and supporting patients through all aspects of their hematologic health. My areas of expertise include transfusion medicine, bleeding disorders, anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, pancytopenia, venous thrombosis, myeloproliferative neoplasms and autoimmune hematologic disorders.
I am committed to compassionate, evidence-based care and supporting patients through all aspects of their hematologic health.
