About Me
I've long been fascinated by the mind and the many ways consciousness shapes our perceptions, emotions, behaviors, genetics and overall well-being. My work is driven by a desire to help people better understand themselves and build an integrated sense of self. I find it especially rewarding when people reconnect with a deep sense of meaning in their daily lives and draw on that foundation to navigate life's challenges.
My clinical work has focused on trauma recovery, and I have specific training and experience in psychedelic medicine, including clinical trials investigating psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy. I'm particularly passionate about the intersection of modern psychiatry and holistic approaches to healing trauma and cultivating well-being. Experiences learning from indigenous healers in South America broadened my understanding of medicine and continue to inform my emphasis on interconnectivity and nature-based healing.
I completed a PhD in molecular neuroscience, studying the epigenetic effects of early life stress. I went on to study neuronal exosomes in stress, a novel molecular mechanism of transmitting stress signals within the brain and from the brain to the body. I have also authored papers in the fields of psychedelic medicine.
Outside of work, I enjoy meditation, spending time in nature, and activities such as swimming, surfing, hiking and dancing.
My work is driven by a desire to help people better understand themselves and build an integrated sense of self.
