About Me
I treat pediatric and adult patients with chronic illness and somatic symptoms where patients have physical symptoms that cannot be explained by a medical condition. I also treat patients with medical traumatic stress, traumatic grief, and specialize in pain management and family-centered care in the hospital setting.
My research includes physician-family communication related to somatic symptom disorders and screening for psychosocial concerns in medical populations.
I want my patients to feel positive about their contribution in the world, in spite of whatever limitations they may have.
I believe it truly does take a village to raise a child and a person, and, as a result, an important part of my role is coordinating my patients' care with their medical providers. I want my patients to feel heard and understood and to view me as a partner in helping them flourish in their lives.
