Blood Donated to Adirondack Blood Center Benefits Patients in the North Country

Benefits Patients in the North Country Area businesses, organizations and donors integral to maintaining adequate blood supply

Plattsburgh, NY – When a patient in the North Country needs an emergency blood transfusion, their lifeline often begins with a neighbor’s donation to the Adirondack Blood Donor Center, a program of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.

Patients at the Plattsburgh hospital, its northern New York health system partners, Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone and Elizabethtown Community Hospital (including Ticonderoga) along with the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake benefit from the generous donations collected and processed by this team of health care professionals. Community drives sponsored by local community groups, businesses and organizations are the backbone of the Donor Center’s success, according to Laboratory Manager Shannon Nutbrown.
