Biographical Information
Tanush Gupta, MD is an interventional cardiologist at the UVM Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of medicine at the Larner College of Medicine. He manages a variety of conditions, including:
- Aortic stenosis
- Mitral regurgitation
- Mitral stenosis
- Tricuspid regurgitation
- Atrial septal defects
- Cryptogenic stroke
- Coronary artery disease
- Ischemic heart disease
He also performs specialized procedures such as:
- Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)

- Transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR)

Dr. Gupta grew up in a family of physicians and decided to follow a career in medicine inspired by the satisfaction his parents felt from making a positive impact in peoples’ lives. He finds the ability to offer life-saving and impactful minimally invasive therapies to patients, both in acute inpatient and elective settings, to be the most rewarding part of his job.
Patients with cardiovascular disease often have multitude of problems with complex medical issues. Dr. Gupta strives to make his patients and their families feel that their questions have been thoroughly answered, and that they are an equal partner in medical decision-making.
