Patrick Hamel is a physical therapist at the University of Vermont Medical Center. He specializes in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, orthotic exams and prescriptions, and spine rehabilitation. He treats patients with musculoskeletal pain, back pain, neck pain, and total joint replacement using various treatments such as manual therapy, therapeutic taping, and McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, an internationally acclaimed method of treating spinal and extremity pain.
Patrick’s research interests include bio-psychosocial approach to treating chronic back pain.
Patrick chose this profession because he enjoys the collaboration with his patients. He likes the combination of exercise, education and application of manual therapy that makes a meaningful impact in people’s lives. He is passionate about helping his patients achieve their goals, whether it is to regain the ability to work or other activities that make life meaningful.
